First BBQ of Spring

Today was warm enough for my apartment’s first BBQ of spring. This is funny when you realize that my track meet yesterday was postponed due to cold weather.

Brendan came back from the store just as I was waking up with an armload of BBQ fixings: fresh ground sirloin, veggies, charcoal, etc. An hour later I was heading out for some forgotten buns and the grill was heating up in the sun.

It’s a long standing tradition here that we through many BBQ’s involving a bunch of friends and games ranging from whiffle ball to Dead or Alive 2. Today’s was a much needed break from normal Sunday’s spent in front of the TV.

My creation of the day was something I picked up form watching Emeril on FoodTV: the blue cheese filled burger. Yes, this monstrous creation involved two 1/4 lb patties wrapped around a patty of blue cheese. Yummy.
